School Support

When kids are facing a challenge, connecting them to their strengths is one of the greatest supports we can provide. It lets them know we believe in them, and guides them towards capability and resilience.

A Strengths-based approach can support:

  • greater happiness and engagement at school

  • higher levels of academic achievement

  • higher levels of physical fitness

  • greater resilience   (From Waters, 2017)

Lynley Forde has worked alongside our staff during 2019. Her work to support wellbeing at Bayview School has had a major impact on all learners. Lynley is insightful, intuitive, responsive to needs and brings life to her PD sessions. We worked alongside Lynley with our whole school production (written by Lynley herself) based around the work she has been doing with staff. This was a highlight of the year for many students and their parents and definitely for all staff. Character strengths are now entrenched at Bayview School, it forms our language, it supports our PB4L and it gives a positive springboard to build on for each individual.

— Sylvie - Strengthening Families Co-ordinator
Lynley is a gifted facilitator. Her style is very relaxed and informative.
